About us

Swamp Camp strategy

Key program elements

A week designed to shape character, deepen faith, and build leadership.

Through play, service, and shared experience.

Swamp Corps establishes week-long residential camps. They include a diverse range of activities, classes, and engagements that cultivate essential skills, attitudes, and practices aligned with the core tenets of character development:

  • Service
  • Humility
  • Forgiveness
  • Gratitude
  • Encouragement

While each camp is thoughtfully adapted to its local context to ensure relevance and engagement, these core program elements remain consistent across all Swamp Camps globally to protect culture integrity, uphold our mission, and support long-term sustainability.

The same in every country

Eight things every camp has

  1. A team of boys piled together around their team flag on the camp lawn
South Africa: 9-10 year old boys team

    Cabin assignments

Campers are grouped into teams based on their age to enhance peer-to-peer relationships.

  2. Counselors standing with their team of younger girls in front of the cabins
Jamaica: counselors with a younger girls team

    Counselor assignments

Two or three counselors are assigned to each group to lead, train and care for the campers.

  3. A team digging and planting together at the camp entrance
South Africa: team working on site entrance

    Service assignments

Each team is given a work assignment to fulfill the daily duties required to keep the camp running smoothly.

  4. A teacher leading a class of boys seated on wide steps under a pavilion
    India: younger boys class

    Bible classes

Daily age-appropriate classes are offered with a curriculum emphasizing knowledge, faith and character growth.

  5. Campers mid-game as a yellow dodgeball flies
    Middle East: team dodgeball
A young camper balancing on a low rope between trees while a friend spots her
Brazil: young camper tackling low ropes

    Games and activities

Daily activities are organized to promote teamwork, strategic thinking, and connection through play.

  6. A boy standing to speak in front of the whole camp seated under the trees
    South Africa: boy sharing

    Expression sessions

Two assemblies focus on public expression of gratitude and encouragement, helping participants build confidence in public speaking and develop feedback skills, while also emphasizing the importance of positive reinforcement strengthening connection and community.

  7. The Milky Way over a dark tree line
    USA: Camp Swamp night sky

    Under the stars

One session is held under the stars as we discuss facts regarding our solar system, the distances of stars and the vastness of our universe, helping children to understand the glory of God revealed in creation and that they are special and have a unique and sacred role to play in all of nature.

  8. Older campers seated in a brick chapel listening to a teacher
    Jamaica: older campers' class

    Under His grace

This session centers around the crucifixion of Jesus and emphasizes the profound impact of forgiveness and grace on our personal well-being and the unity of our relationships and communities on a broader scale.
